Bo & Cheryl Cote’s Boathouse
Gull Lake – Nisswa, Minnesota

Remodeled to today’s standards, this very unique 1935 Boathouse is located on 135 feet of fine sand beach on Beautiful Gull Lake in the North Woods of Minnesota. The front patio and deck are on the fine sandy beach, just 35 feet from the water’s edge. Gull Lake is a warm water lake with a sand bottom, and it has long been a destination area for vacationers world wide.

The boathouse has 2200 square feet of living space, all uniquely decorated with cedar wood walls and bleached pine ceilings.

Our 1200 s.f. Carriage House is a wonderful 2 bedroom/1 bath additional rental for our guests already renting out the Boat House. The Carriage House website, showing pictures and descriptions is here.

In the boathouse itself, there are 2 bedrooms, a junior suite type of master bedroom and a twin bedded guest/children’s room, both on the second floor. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and its own sitting area, complete with a new gas log fireplace. Each room has a deck facing the lake. The master bedroom deck actually overlooks the lake and is large enough to accommodate beach chairs for private sunning. With two full bathrooms, this is a perfect spot for a family of four. The remodeled, twin bedded bunk house located 15 feet out on the East lawn will accommodate two more guests, bringing the capacity of this fine north woods retreat to six (capacity increases to 10 with additional carriage house rental).

While there is a dock that comes with the property, adult beach toys are certainly encouraged and can be rented locally. Gull Lake and its many wonderful clubs and restaurants are often accessed by water, any time of day or night. If you bring your own boat with you, a 4000 lb. hoist has been provided.

While The Boathouse is a destination all its own, just down the street is Grand View Lodge, one of the premier resorts in Minnesota. We’re just a two block stroll to their restaurants, spa and beach front activity. There are six golf courses within 15 minutes of our cabin, including Grand View’s 27 holes about a mile away.

We have great loons under the stars over the lake down by the fire pit, on the beach.
